Submission & Guidelines
General Rules
- All presentations should be in English.
- Each registered participant will be able to present a maximum of 2 oral presentations.
- The symposium can be registered with full text or abstract text. After your abstracts (full text or abstract text), your submissions will enter the evaluation process. Submitted abstracts will be sent to at least two referees for peer review. The referees will announce their decisions after the applications are closed.
Abstract Submission
- To submit an abstract, please click here to download the “Abstract Submission Document”, fill it according to guidelines therein, and send it to faba2021@mail.ege.edu.tr.
Full-text Submission
- To submit a full-text, please create a single word document (.doc, .docx) according to the following guidelines and send it to faba2021@mail.ege.edu.tr.
- Full-text should be written in clear and concise English.
- Full-text should be headed by a title, name(s) and complete address(es) of the author(s). Underline the name of the corresponding author. Please indicate the corresponding author’s e-mail address.
- Full-text should be typed 1.5 spaced on A4 size paper in 12-pt Times New Roman font including the references, table headings and figure captions with standard margins (25 mm) all around.
- Do not use footnotes in the text, use parentheses instead.
- The maximum length of the full-text would be up to 4 pages.
- Full-text should be organized into an Abstract, Keywords, Introduction, Material and Methods, Results, Discussion, and References.
- The first mention in the text of any taxon must be followed by its authority including the year. The names of genera and species should be given in italics.
- Acknowledgments (if available) should be kept brief and placed before the reference section.
Tables and Figures
- Figures and tables should be placed inside the manuscript properly.
- All illustrations, except tables, should be labeled ‘Figure’ and numbered in consecutive numbers, and referred to as Table 1, Figure 1....in the text.
- Each table and figure, with a descriptive title, should be placed inside the manuscript in proper places (not at the end of manuscript).
- Figures should be in JPEG, TIFF or PNG formats and minimum 300 dpi.
References
- Full references should be provided in accordance with the APA style. The usage of the manager as Citefast (http://www.citefast.com/) with the output style of APA 6th edition is advised in organizing the reference list.
- All references must be written in English.
- The in-text citation to the references should be formatted as a surname(s) of the author(s) and the year of publication: (Sunlu, 2005) or (Sunlu and Şen, 2007). For citations with more than two authors, only the first author’s name should be given, followed by “et al.” and the date (Tolon et al., 2017).
- All citations should be listed in the reference list, with the exception of personal communications.
- References should be listed alphabetically ordered by the author’s surname, Article title should be in sentence case and the journal-title should be in title case. Journal titles in the Reference List must be italicized and spelled out fully; do not abbreviate titles (e.g., Aquaculture Research, not Aqua. Res.).
- The citation of journals, books, multi-author books and articles published online should conform to the following examples:

Oral Presentation Guidelines
- Oral presentations should not exceed 15 minutes including questions (~5 min.).
- All presentations should be in Microsoft PowerPoint document (.ppt, .pptx). Presenters wishing to use any other file must bring in their computer and will be responsible for its operation.
